Sure, tofu and soy products are fine if you aren't allergic to soy (so is a common allergen).

On your program, can a unsweetned Soy yogurt be used?
Also, Tofu?

Jen,

Thanks for the comment! Peanut butter is actually a great thing to eat because it really stops sugar cravings. I think it is because of the high protein and fat content of most peanut butters and even the natural ones taste sweetish.

I would say that you should probably move to the natural peanut butters. Smart Balance is okay, but still contains molasses. If regular peanut butter is all you can get, it is fairly low on the glycemic index - so, probably not too bad.

Good luck on your sugar-free adventure! If you haven't already, download the 30 Sugar Free Days PDF; it should help.

First, THANK YOU for this great blog! I have been looking for a real professional opinion on the harm of sugar.

What do you think about the sugar content in peanut butter? I am on my 5th day sugar free but still eating JIF, which I know has refined sugar. I am OK with having 3 grams of refined sugar a day. BUT do you think this is going to make me crave more sugar? Should I switch to natural? What about Smart Balance?

I think sugar is a real addiction. I was addicted to sugar for years until I finally broke the habit. How about fruit for a comfort food? Is that a good idea. I really enjoy frozen blueberries and frozen grapes. Frozen bananas are good too but they don't stay good in the freezer for long.
