Diet Success Stories

Diet Success Stories I’ve been asked a lot about how effective my 30 Sugar Free Days Program and my new Alien Diet Program is for weight loss and while I could give you a lot of diet success stories, why don’t I let the people who have been through the program let you know: ************************************************* I just began my third week on Sunday, and my wedding ring is loose! Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is not really a disease but a syndrome and what I would call a “pre-disease” or a condition that you get before you get really sick. Metabolic syndrome is also known as syndrome X, or metabolic syndrome X, or even insulin resistance syndrome. There are four primary symptoms of metabolic syndrome: central obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, dyslipidemia (all explained below). Having metabolic syndrome brings with it a risk for other diseases (mostly heart disease, stroke, and type-2 diabetes) and the potential for a shortened life.

Insulin Resistance

Insulin resistance is a modern day problem that is the result of eating modern day foods. What insulin resistance means is that the cells in your body are resistant to insulin. While this may not sound like a big deal, it is. The more insulin resistant your cells become, the high your blood sugar rises (and your body hates high blood sugar). Let’s take a look at just how insulin resistance happens in your body.

How Many Calories Should I Eat to Lose Weight?

Want to know how many calories you should eat to lose weight? The answer is simple: If You Want to Lose Weight, Calories Don’t Matter. You might be a bit surprised by that answer (especially when doctors, nutritionists, and government agencies all have suggestions for how many calories you should eat if you want to lose weight). The truth is simple: your body is not a calorimeter. What is a calorimeter? It is the machine that food scientists use to determine how many calories food contains (see picture on this page).

Best Weight Loss Foods

People have been asking me for a list of weight loss foods. These foods (all fruits and vegetables) are especially good at helping you to feel full and are low in calories. When you are looking for foods to help you with weight loss, these are the foods that you want to turn to. The key here is to eat as many of the green leafy vegetables as you can and then add in any other vegetables that you enjoy. When it comes to fruits, you want to focus on the low sugar fruits for weight loss.

Sugar Free Diet for Diabetics

If you ask most medical doctors or even established associations such as the American Diabetes Association (see Diabetes Myths) you will find that they think that eating sugar has nothing to do with diabetes. To most people it seems mind bogglingly simple to connect a sugar control problem (diabetes) with eating too much sugar but the medical community just can’t seem to make that leap. For the rest of us that live on planet reality it is obvious that eating sugar can cause diabetes. How do we know that? Because humans that don't have access to purified white sugar or...

Allergic to Everything, Part Two

There is a food trap that some people fall in to where the number of foods that they feel that they can eat slowly dwindles down to almost nothing. I’m going to suggest to you that this problem doesn’t make you crazy, but it is largely your brain’s fault (or maybe it is better described as your genes fault).

Sugar Addiction, Part 2: What the Rats Say

August 11, 2008
By

Let’s not stop by looking only at the symptoms of addiction (see previous blog), but look at what the scientific community has to say about sugar addiction. When asked about if sugar is an addiction, most people in the medical community would shrug this notion off as if you were crazy. But, you aren’t crazy if you think you are addicted to sugar; many people know sugar is an addiction for them. There are scientific studies that show that sugar is an addiction. Let’s see what the researchers have discovered through their research in animals: When rats have free...
